What kind of recording are you doing? Digital audio or MIDI? Using ASIO or WDM (or MME)?

Tried different drivers for your audio interface?

I'm using an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 with the latest supported drivers in Windows XP (5.10.00.29, released the other day). Recording digital audio at 24-bit/44.1 kHz using the ASIO model works fine for me in 4.0d. Haven't tried MIDI yet though.

Yep.... I have the same thing!

Now when I record a new audio part over existing samples I get 450+ms delay to the new parts on playback.

Nothing else changed on the machine.... same hardware everything. I was working on a project... got notified of the update.. downloaded and installed 4.0d.. reloaded the project and went to add a new track. Bang.. massive latency.

P3 - 1Ghz / 512MB RAM / Win XP Pro / M-Audio Quattro USB sound card

I'm using MME drivers for the M-audio Quattro (cause the ASIO drivers crash Acid+XP every 15mins or so?! Although they don't have latency issues.)

I going to spend one last night playing around with buffers, and offsets .... then try and dig out a backup of 4.0c and go back....

Any news/ideas on how to fix this would be most welcome.

Phil

Click to the: Latency FIX on this board or on the VEGAS - AUDIO board...

This will fix your problems...

Thanks for your note...

I saw your previous email before but it doesn't seem to work for me unfortunatly...

However tonight I discovered if I set the project to 5.1 Surround Mix rather than Stereo, and also the sample rate to 96kHz @ 16bit.. then new audio parts are recorded and playback in time.

I tried various other options and this was the only setting which worked.... dunno why?

(MME driver mode - Acid 4.0d - WinXP)

I've been working w/tech support on this and I can't get it to work either. It's certainly an issue w/'d' and that's the only build I have. I'm asking for a link to download 'b' and see if that works. 98se, M-Audio Omni/Delta 66 for record, onboard SB for playback. I can record fine in Pro 3.0, music 3.0, and style 2.0. :-(

Tech support are aware of this bug in d. I am imformed that an update will be released 'soon' to fix this widespread problem.
