Anyone having crash problems when using Acid 4.0d's Resonant Filter?? I'm running an Acid project right now with 38 tracks (no loops....all one shots) with two instances of DB Tempo Delay. Track plays wonderfully (my P4 1.8 processor is only at 40%) until it gets to measure 89.1 (give or take a few beats), then it just stops and the program freezes. (no error message shows up). The only way to close the program is multiple clicks on the upper right hand corner "x". If I mute the track with the Resonant Filter on it, the project plays beautifully. However, if I solo the track with the Resonant Filter on it, the project locks up. I even went as far as to delete all the other tracks besides the one with the Resonant Filter (just to see if I was somehow choking my processor) and the project still locks up at the exact same spot (with only that one track in the project)!!!! I discussed the problem with a mutual Acid user and he said that the exact same thing happened to him on a project about a week ago while using the Resonant Filter. Did i just find a bug or is this documented somewhere? Any replies are appreciate (SOFO guys??). Merlyn |

Just a thought: Try changing the settings on the res filter and see if it locks in the same place. Also try deleting the res filter from the project (not just bypassing it). If it still locks up, it may be that the track's file is corrupted in some way. HTH, drbam |

Keep in mind that I have deleted all the other tracks from the project except for the one with the Resonant Filter for trouble shooting purposes. I already tried deleting the Resonant Filter from the project and it doesn't lock up, so its not the track file. However, I hadn't tried changing the settings on the filter. First I dropped all the Resonance (which by the way, isn't automated in the project). It locked up at the same spot. Next I tried adjusting the the Frequency (which is automated) and to my surprise, it didn't crash at the same spot. It played through fine. Locks like a bit of a bug to me. Thoughts? Merlyn |
