My respects at all Sirs of the Sonic Foundry.

I have come working with Vegas, since version 3.0, until update version, and to may
to capture video to must to use another software stranger
at Sonic Foundry, because wirh the capture card
I can't to capture video with Video Capture 3.0 or 4.0. I have had to use
capture card called Pinnacle
Studio DC 10 Plus, but I want to know which is the capture card works better with
Vegas 4.0 and Video Capture 4.0.
thank you.

I am very satisfied with my Canopus ADVC100. It is not exactly a "card", it is an external converter.

Any firewire board will do, as long as it's OHCI-compliant.

Many people recommend the ADS Pyro 1394 board.

My vote goes for the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 -- for $78 (shipped to your door for free) you get an OHCI-compliant 1394 port, and you also happen to get one of the most advanced 5.1 and 6.1 sound cards available!

What is the trick to getting it to work. I installed Vegas over the weekend and can not capture from my Panasonic DV deck through the Audigy?

Buy the most inexpensive firewire card you can find on pricewatch.com, I've probably purchased 8-10 different ones and never had a problem. Also, I was in the refurb section at Belkin.com a day or two ago, and they had refurbed firewire cards-same warranty as new-$4.99
