Looking for windchime loops. They are the small chimes that have a shimmering sound when played up / down scale. The percussionist for Michael Card is the only 'live' use I've heard - sure that others use them. Anyway, looking for loops like that for some projects I'm working on. |

If you don't get any good suggestions for pre-made loops, go to Syntrillium and pick up their inexpensive Windchimes program, and you can make your own. I love this little program. I've had it for years, and I actually do use it from time to time for just this purpose. You can use the presets, with varying settings, or you can get in and program your own stuff using whatever scales and configuration you like. |

There are some windchimes on the Mick Fleetwood CD. Also try http://www.findsounds.com/ISAPI/search.dll There are many other places as well. You'll find them when you look. BTW, I don't hear Michael Card's name mentioned very often. Does he still have the Chapman Stick player? |

Acid Latin has a wind chime loop in the percussion folder. I've used it on one of my songs, and being a drummer, I feel it's just fine. There are also a lot of other cool loops on that CD, many of which have been played to death on Acid Planet. But we all know the music world is much larger than just that. You can usually find Acid Latin for about $10.00. Check Guitar Center and e-Bay, along with any online software clearing house. You can hear the loop I used on this song right at the 1:03 point. http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=223830&T=6897 I manipulated it in Sound Forge by having it go left to right instead of right to left. Good luck. Steve |
