Hey, I am using the audiophile 2496 with windows xp. I get only about 5 - 10 minutes of midi use with a soft synth then the midi just stops responding. No error message, no freeze up, it just stops working until I reboot. I contacted m-audio and they said the card might be bad, But it is brand new and worked fine until I started using asio and finally updated the drivers (which the wonderful people in this forum helped me with, THANK YOU!!!) It is a weird problem and I don't understand. I have tried everything including reinstalling xp. Any help would be great. Thanks, Mike |

Hi' When you updated to the new drivers did you use the M-Audio uninstall app to remove the old ones first? If you have a on-board sounds disable them! Im running an audiophile 2496 with windows xp also and i dont get the problem your having!! HTH |

In addition to what SkZ has said, try doing a pitch bend send and see if you get your MIDI back. HTH, Iacobus |

I was referring to a MIDI keyboard controller of some sort (like M-Audio's Oxygen8) with a pitch bend wheel. Iacobus |

This is probably a repeat, but make sure that you're using the beta drivers specifically with the ACID 4 fix. I think they're the 29 X 10 set...Another thing you might try is the XP tweaks found on http://www.musicxp.net/tuning_tips.htm. I went through this list and gained about 15% in system performance.
