Subject:Does 4d support multi i/o soundcards?

I see they've added ReWire. Now I want to route various signals to/from the app for external processing.

eg. track 1 out to ports 1/2, track 2 out to ports 3/4 while simultaneously recording (and monitoring) those processed signals back into the app through ports 5/6 and 7/8.

Has this been implemented?

That all depends.

You can record and playback in Reason, but be aware if you want to record MIDI in ACID and Reason at the same time, your audio interface should have multi-client MIDI drivers. Otherwise, it's either ACID or Reason for recording MIDI.

That isn't so bad, as you can just route your MIDI to Reason and use Reason just like any other soft synth—recording and playback/monitoring included.

You have always been able to set up sub buses to route to additional hardware ports so that you can mix with an external board if you want.

ACID can only record a single mono or stereo source as it always has. ACID cannot monitor input in software.

What you want to do is not part of ACID as ACID does not permit you to multitrack record.
