SF6 doesn't have an "uninstall" on it's CD and there doesn't seem to be one in the folder either. If Windows doesn't list it in "add/remove Software" then yoiu're cooked for getting it uninstalled properly. I don't just want to deleete it or I won't get the registry entries etc. Does SF make a sep. uninstall utility available? This is the first program I've seen in a long time that doesn't have an uninstall.

Either you have a badly cracked version, or something stuffed up on your install. All SF products have an uninstall from the Start menu folder, and an entry in Window's Add-Remove Software in CP.

If not, then you will need to delete the folder under Program Files, and delete all references to Sound Forge from Regedit. Some shared files may remain (in Windows/System32, or wherever), but that shouldn't be a problem.

There is an uninstall link in the start menu under (all programs->sonic foundry->soundforge->uninstall) as well as in the add/remove programs in control panel. However, like most software today the uninstall doesn't do much. It removes about 80% of the files on your hard disk (leaves all the 'shared plug-ins stuff even if you only have 1 sonic foundry product) and MAYBE 20% of the entries in the registry.

I wanted a clean install when i upgraded from SF5 to SF6, but it took me nearly 30 minutes to remove all of the useless entries left behind in the registry.
