Subject:Pan problems when recording

For some reason whenever I record, my panning is off on my monitor, my left channel is defaulted at -27dB but my right is down to -42 and after recording, you can see that it's off because the left side is extremely loud but my right is barely hearable. After recording, I usually have to set a pan envelop down to the right side 50% to balance it out.

Might anyone please help me remedy this problem?

Check your soundcard/audio interface's software mixer to be sure the balance is right, as all input is handled via this way.

If that doesn't do it, update or reinstall your soundcard's drivers if possible.
