Subject:Time Signatures?

I was recording something with 3 beats per measure. I usually record with four beats per measure, so I haven't come across this before.. In Acid Music 3.0, at the top of the page is what they refer to as the "beat ruler" that shows 4 beats per measure. I need to change it to 3 beats so it correctly matches the tempo of the guitar track, and so i can arrange the one shot drum tracks accordingly. I tried arranging them as they are, with four beats per measure on the beat ruler, but no matter how much i zoom in (or out) i can't get the beats on the beat ruler properly lined up with the beats to my guitar track. When i went into Acid Music's help files, it tells me nothing about changing it. The only thing that comes close is a useless page that tells me what the beat ruler is and what it looks like. Can anyone help? |

Support for alternate time signatures was not added until ACID 4.0. ACID 3.0 is limited to 4/4. Of course, you could still work in different time signatures with what you have, but you would need to manually count out your measure divisions. Nate |

Try chopping up loops and zooming in a bit to work around the limitation. Or...you could always write new music that employs two time signatures at once. You play your guitar riff in 3/4 and let the drums have their comfy little 4/4...! Just an idea...! Peter Stone soundsichiban.com |
