zelda_fan, Which sound card are you using? If you open ACID, then go to Options>Preferences>Audio does changing the playback device under the Driver Type and default playback device drop down menus make any difference? Nate |

Does it give this error? An Error occured while starting playback An unexpected error has occured Are you able to use Windows Media Player to play sound files on your computer? Close ACID and try double-clicking one of the loops from the ACID CD in Windows Explorer. Does it play? Which version of Windows are you using? Nate |

What happens if you just open ACID, click the New button to start a new (empty) project, then click Play? Does it play there? If you open the default Hybrid.acd-zip file from the ACID installation folder, does that one play properly? Nate |

If nothing will play from ACID and you only get that error, I think the first two things that I would try would be to reinstall ACID itself from the original installer (uninstall the version that you have first). If that doesn't help, I would reinstall the drivers for the Monster Sound. The Monster Sound card itself was discontinued back in the days of Win98, and never had an official WinME revision of it's drivers that I know of. You can get the last release from Diamond here: http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/companies/305.htm Note: You will need to sign up for the Soundcard-Drivers.com website membership (it's free) to get this file. This is the only place on the net that I could find that still has this file online. Hope this helps. Nate |
