When I record a vocal track....it is offset. I'm not the best at describing time...but it is like half a count every time. This is a problem when doing playback for recording instruments and vocals....I'm sure it is something i haven't checked or unchecked, but it never did this to me until I installed acid 4c and d is doing it too....any help would be greatly appreciated. GOD BLESS.zach.

I tried that....i moved it to plus 64 and minus 64. no change. It's actually adding the extra time to the beginning of the take. I have to erase a square, then slide the wav file back to where it needs to be...it's the same amount everytime which leads me to believe that there IS a way to fix it. I appreciate your guys' help...that was more than I expected.

I had this same problem. I sent screen shots and settings to SoFo and NEVER got a reply. I sent perhaps three support requests, and then when I got a couple of SoFo email addresses, sent the info to them too.

Nothing. No reply. No help.

But interestingly enough I did get a reply for a much more simple problem I sent at the same time. That just made me convinced they had no idea what was causing it, decided that it must have been a "limited" or "user-specific" problem, so just decided it wasn't worth the effort to investigate.

There's only so many times you can ask for help before you think "pah, forget it, I'll use something else".

So I still use 3.0g for most things although I've just started with a bit of midi for 4c ...

There is a setting on the Audio preference page:

"Automatically detect and offset for hardware recording latency".

If you uncheck this option, try recording.

If you still have an offset, then adjust the slider. You can add or subtrack upto 1 sec to account for hardware record offsets.

Note: This option is unavailable when using ASIO drivers as ASIO drivers tell us exactly how much difference there is between the input buffer and output buffers.

The position bias is not for recording offsets. It is for wave/WDM drivers that report their playback position in correctly.
