Subject:Problem with recording audio on Acid 3.0

I am looking for some help from the group. I just bought Acid 3.0. My computer has 1 GB DD RAM with a CPU 2.0 GHZ. I have a M-Audio Preamp Sound card. When I try to record vocal track and I push record, enter audio as the function and then click start, the screen freezes and I am forced to end the task. I don't know why this is happening. I have no problems pasting loops and tracking that way. I can hear everything in playback. For some reason it is only when I try to lay down an audio track. I am not a computer expert by any means but I can't believe one audio track would use up that much memory.
I would really appreciate some advice on this.
Thanks
Steve

make sure you have the latest drivers for your sound card and make sure you have the latest update for AP3.

also make sure that nothing is running in the background.

Adding to what Sin has said, pick up the update for ACID 3.0 over here.
