I felt good about the 4c update it seemed to be stable. By far more workable than both a&b. By workable I mean I don't want to spend valuable time tweaking, adjusting, all the other mishaps. Albeit most of the problems and glitches were minor, it still remains irritating and frustrating. I prefer spending time actually producing material, (Good,Bad or Ugly). I noticed the update to 4c and after reading what it was suppose to do, downloaded, installed, smile on my face, opened my new version of one of my best old friends. Well almost immediately things started going down hill. Something as simple as pulling up a loop causes a crash, to say the least that's disappointing, I tweaked a little here and there, adjusted a little. Granted thing began to get slightly better but after the fifth Fatal Exception Error, don't different functions, I decided enough is enough and enough is too much 4.0 has to go. I'm going back to 3.0

Sorry to here bro. Have you sent in the fatal exemt errors to sofo? Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling 4.0d clean? Have you formatted your os in a while? I don't know your setup so some info would help. I am NOT seeing what your seeing sorry. What steps led to all these problems? Are these crashes consistent or hard to duplicate? Are you using asio or windows classic drivers? Are these projects just loops? Never had a crash just by "auditioning" a loop.

Ras,

Seems like you are giving up way too soon. Like before letting us know anything about your system or anything that may give a clue to the issues. 4.0d is running great here so not everyone is having problems.

Maybe share a little insider infor on your system and maybe we can bring it back to a usuable state. Especially sound card specs.

one thing i did notice when updating to 4.0c is you have to reset your audio drivers because you now have additional choices. i'd double check that.

4.0c is damn near perfect over hear. asio works as well as my other apps and rewire is a dream.

RasKeita-

You need to let us know what you are doing when you are getting these errors. We're here... poking around the forums trying to help. If there's a bug or our users are having problems let us know!

Keys for posting:
1. What you were doing?
2. What OS
3. What soundcard and driver model (ex. Delta 1010 ASIO)

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems. Please post back w/ additional details so we may check things on our end.

This is the system. I'm very mindful of system maintenance. That's never an issue to have to tweak and adjust but this 4.0c thing frustrated me. I started with Acid Music several years back graduated to 2.0 Pro, 3.0 Pro, 4.0 Pro. I have Cubase SX, Fruity Loops,FL Studio Producers Edition, Giga Studio, Muzys, Nuendo, Reason, Rebirth, Sonar, Vegas 4.0, Cool Edit, Sound Forge 5.0, Wave Lab. I gotta admit I occasionally have a glitch here and there but never and I repeat never as much difficulty as with Acid 4.0 all versions. I'm an avid Sonic Foundry user and supporter, will continue to remain one, but I still feel 4.0 is very buggy. Personally I think rather than working MIDI/VSTi/etc. into Acid, developement should have been more focused in the rewire area. Acid would be a great asset as a VST/VSTi plugin in Cubase SX or Sonar. Acid still reigns supreme as the "Professional Loop Production Tool" adding the features of the big three Sequencers and trying to vie for that market share and customer base, IMHO was a mistake. The ease of use, the user friendly innerface, the innovative tools (that the "Big Three" have copied) are what made Acid GREAT. The bad press and customer dissatisfaction associated with 4.0 is steadly dragging down this Application we all know and love. I will heed the advice about a complete un and reinstall...Level Vibes

1) Is your OS set to "standard pc"?
2) Are either of your soundcards sharing a "irq" either with each other or something big like the video card?
3) Have you tried the delta drivers: Delta_29x12 Pro. The drivers that your using don't have the "acid fix" included. Select Delta,XP,Beta...It will come up then. Don't select the top one...ends with 31? It's used for home systems not audio recording/playback.

Make sure to do a un/reinstall of acid though dude.

1)Yes (from virgin install)
2)No (each important piece of hard is alone)
3)I have in the past used the Beta (Acid Fix) Drivers but since I don't exculsively use Acid the 27 works best as an all around...
My main machine is workin' the un/rein as we speak...Level Vibes

Man look.......
I have Windows XP Pro on a old Intel 450 mhz machine with no special tweaks. I use Fruity, Cakewalk, Cubase, Samplitude, Rebirth, Wavelab, Orion and so-on. The problem is the Codes my friend; it is the way the Codes are written in 4.0.

I still use Acid 3.0 and I am here to tell you this........3.0 IS DA BOMD!

Come home!!!!!!!!!!
