Subject:Split Tracks To Burn CD?

i just started using sf today to edit my wavs.

i recorded a concert, and wanted to split the songs into tracks for a cd. it seemed to do this, you created regions, which i did.
when i went to burn the show, i found out that you couldnt only burn half the songs, but had to burn the whole thing. though from reading other threads, it seems you can do tao, which i do not want, i want dao.
the show is too long for one cd and i cant figure out how to save each individual track as a wav to then use nero to burn the cd? any help on how to do that? thanks!

sorry if this has been asked a bunch of times, i looked, but didnt see anything that helped.

Assuming you have the full version of SF;

Place the cursor at the start of the audio in the file.

Press "m" to insert a marker.

Press the spacebar to start playback.

Press "m" again at the crossfade location to insert another marker. Repeat to the end.

Click Special > Regions List > Markers to Regions, when prompted click yes or ok.
In the Regions List window highlight a region click enter to edit name.

Click tools > Extract Regions and save them to a folder and burn them all in your burning software using DAO (disk at once) to prevent spaces between tracks.

So, is that to say that you cannot do something along these lines with SF Studio? What about saving segments of the original wav file as separate files, and then burning them to a CD-R with 0 time in between tracks? Is there a way to do that?

Just curious because I'm thinking about buying SF Studio.

Thanks.

You can use SoundForge to split up the tracks into individual .wav files (easier with the full version but still very doable with Studio), and then use whatever burning software came with your CD burner to do DAO burning to avoid the gaps between the tracks.

You can't do DAO burning with SoundForge.

You will have to save each selection between markers as a seperate file manually, Studio may convert markers to regions I'm not sure I never had it.

I've used EZ CD Creator, Nero, and Vegas for my DAO burning. I've never noticed any automatic compression in any of them.

SF CD Architect 5 rules ! Import your whole file, just drop the track marker wherever you like, and burn.
