in acid 4.0, when i record my vocals they are out of sinc with the rest of the tracks.
Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Try going to the Audio tab under Options>Preferences on ACID's menu bar and select your soundcard's specific drivers. You have a few driver models to choose from. If you have ASIO, go for that model.
