I have a really long recording that I thought was going just fine. As it turns out i clicked the stop recording button only to find that it did not build peaks or register my recording at all. However, the recording does exist where all of my recordings are saved when completed. I cannot open this file with acid nor with winamp. Winamp says Under Nullsoft Waveform Decoder "Invalid file type", granted i did not render this file as mp3 yet i just wanted to see if it would open in any player at all.. In acid when i try to open the file it says "The file is most likely corrupted or of an unknown format. A necessary RIFF header is missing." Is there any way to recover this recording it is very important to me. Thank you, Spiral |

What kind of recording is it? MIDI or Audio? If you recorded MIDI and didn't select MIDI while recording, the recording doesn't exist, that's what it sounds like to me from your description. When you hit the Record button in Acid the recorder opens at the top there are two options Audio & MIDI, you must select the appropriate source...Level Vibes |

It is Audio recording.. just talking into the mic basically. I do remember it being set to Audio. |

You might try opening it as RAW in Sound Forge (if you have Sound Forge). You'll have to know some information about the file to begin with, but since you recorded it in Acid you should know if it was 44.1 16-bit or whatever. Turn your speakers down first. |
