Subject:Stupid question!

I having trouble finding the answer to this problem, this is why we ended up here!
I have acid hiphop ver. 2.0, the basic acid styles cd. I have been creating songs and recording different wav sounds by pushing the record button. Lately, when i press record, the song plays back into the microphone even when it is off. Therefore i am unable to record any clear wavs without an anoying feedback on the same wav track! I can not find what is wrong! Someone please help me! I have looked everywhere from my soundcard to the simple volume control, something is wrong and i have no idea what i did!

Since you've looked in the software mixer, did you ensure that the microphone's input was all the down and/or muted?
