By accident i think i found out how to eliminate vocals. When i put cursor on center divider line between left and right channels, then left double mouse click on this line, vocals are miraculously cut out. This is really cool, but how can i save this permanently as .wav file to hard disc? Thanx so much in advance.

First, I doctored up my audio by using the graphic eq function in sf5.0. I cut out all highs, extreme lows, and some mid. I saved this to my hard disc, went out, grabbed a cheeseburger, came back and was noodleing w/ the file again, accidentally left double clicked mouse when cursor was on center line of audio window (between left and right waveforms) and voila! -- the vocals were minimized significantly from the file. they were not completely eliminated though. but eliminated enough so that it made noticeable difference. But still, how do you save to hard disc after all of this? When i click red x and it asks if i want to save changes i just click yes, and it's done? Please help.

A bug in 5.0? Dunno. I'm running 6.0e and when i double-click as you describe, i just get the entire file highlighted. Nothing is changed at all.

What "red x" are you seeing?

Actually I was wrong. I was playing Grateful Dead song "The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion", from their first album. When I isolate the channels I hear Jerry Garcia's vocals either in isolated left or right channel. But when I have both channels going @ same time the way album was originally mixed, Jerry Garcia's vocal becomes very faint. How strange!

OH, I forgot to say, I mean the "red x" is the x in top right corner of a window that you click on to exit window. Sound Forge seems to be set up so that before you "x-out", as i say, from the window, it automatically sort of reads your mind and asks/reminds you if you want to save changes. Forgive me for my ignorance, i am neebie to world of computers.
