Select either the left (top half) or right (bottom half) and CTRL/Drag it to a vacant spot on the SForge window, and there is your new mono file.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but do i select top half (left channel) or bottom half (right channel) by placing cursor in top or bottom of screen and then left double clicking? I think this is correct, but how do I "ctrl/drag" it to vacant spot on sf window? How do you "drag" and what window is sf window and where is vacant spot? I appreciate your help so much.

Above is the link to the tutorials section. I would suggest you begin with the basic navigation of SoFo software, then move on to the Sound Forge tutorials. They should help you out.

Okay. I think I get idea, but there is still problem. When I isolate channels by dragging one of the channels to clear area of larger sound forge window, then play it back, the sound becomes very soft. What happened? Please help.
