Subject:When Trying to record MIDI with ASIO acid shuts down (pt2)

When I have the device type set on ASIO on my Audiphile 2496 and I try to record MIDI as soon as I hit the start/record button I get a fatal exception error and Acid 4.0d shuts down and in turn I lose all my work. I really don't care about the loss of work as much as the fact that on the other settings it takes 1 minute to hear a note after you press it. I am using: P3 866mhz 512sdram133 Audiophile 2496 Roland a-37 Midi controller and I am using Native instruments FM7 as a soft synth. If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks, Mike |

Did you try the other drivers as mD suggested? Follow those driver install/update readme files to the letter. If all else fails, you may have to start from scratch with an uninstall of the card, drivers, and Acid....reinstall. Keep trying, cuz that's a known good sound card, and everything else there looks good. |

I am sorry for the double post. I just felt I didn't have enough info in the first one so I disguised it as a new post. Anyway, I did do a clean install of windows xp, the drivers, and acid still I can't get it to work. I am really stumped here. Actually the only programs I have on the computer is acid and fm7. I wanted to try and just have a clean computer for optimum performance, but i guess that doesn't make a difference. |
