Subject:cursor out of sync in 4c (not in 4b)

I always had the problem that with the drivers of my soundblaster live supported by acid4 i couldn't play midi instruments at a latency any lower than 35 ms. BUT what's new with 4c, and even more annoying: i can't get the cursor in sync with the music when running the playback, the cursor is always ahead of the playback. this is a pain when you'd have to move slices in a 1/32 range or something... please can anybody tell me how to get the cursor and the playback fit together? - in 4b it worked perfectly, btw. thank you!

Not sure what would have happened between releases, but haven't seen what you're reporting. Have you tried going into Prefs/Audio/Advanced (depending on your driver model), and adjusting the position bias slider?

Just curious, which drivers are you using? I know that with my Audigy, some of the drivers made playback and the cursor position totally out of sync, and others worked just fine.

I had the same problem with Reason/Rewire syncing and the cursor, as suggested I tweaked the Position bias it's better, but still not spot on. I don't think we're the only ones experiencing this. I seen three post concerning just this issue...Level Vibes

joel,

i've tried changing the position bias slider, but that won't change anything, neither with the microsoft sound mapper nor with the windows classic wave driver - the two drivers i can choose between for the sb live. in fact, i can select the direct sound surround mapper, too, but i can't tell if it would work together with the sound blaster, as acid crashes everytime i try.

Zerobae-

Specifically, which drivers are you using? What is the driver version number? And have you gone to Creative's website to get the absolute latest?

Yeah, I am having this problem as well with 4.0c and 4.0d. It's weird, but my old projects actually sync fine, but new ones are outta whack. I can open a recent(done in 4.0c) project and it will be outta sync, but then if I exit and restart and then open an old projct a few times, the 4.0c project will playback the cursor fine until I do any kind of edit...add track,cut,paste...whatever! I am using Audiophile 24/96. I thought it was a VST thing, but I was wrong. Oh,yeah the cursor seems to loose it's sync if the project tempo goes below 115 or above 122 bpm, at least for me. I am using an older vid card...RageIIc, so that might have something to do with it. That's my 2 pennies! luces

Mysterious. I have an Audiophile 2496 w/ ACID 4.0d. No cursor drift problems here. Using the pro betas from M-Audio.

I am using an ATI Radeon for video on an AGP slot. Users might want to try updating their video card's drivers if available. Also try a different video card if possible.
