You don't want to record MIDI. You want to record digital audio. The two are very different in approach. MIDI is just a set of instructions, for example, not actual audio like digital audio is. Connect the outputs of your synth to a compatible input on your soundcard or other audio interface. Since most synths/keyboards typically have 1/4" outs for digital audio, you'll more than likely have to pick up adapters of some sort to interface with your soundcard, especially if it's a Sound Blaster or compatible. Look for 1/4" to 1/8" stereo minijack (3.5 mm) adapters or cables. (Most pro-level cards like those from M-Audio or Echo don't have this problem.) HTH, Iacobus |

Thank you very much. the only that i am afraid is that maybe that does not work with cake walk. the Disadvantage is that with digital audio i will spent a lot of memory ex. 300 bytes for midi and 2 MB for digital audio :( Thank you very much :) i will try it |

If you're talking about hard drive space, yes, digital audio does have a much larger file size vs. MIDI, hands down. RAM (memory) isn't too bad of an issue, as long as you keep in mind that Loops always load into RAM, One-shots playback from your hard drive if they're longer than 3 seconds (3 seconds or less and they load into RAM), and Beatmapped tracks always playback from your hard drive. I believe Cakewalk apps do record digital audio, even the older ones. Consult your Cakewalk app's manual or online help for more info on recording. HTH, Iacobus |
