Subject:Mmmm... Acid Problems (yet again)

I got used to the quirks of Acid 4.0 and I could handle it, but I'm rapidly becoming an Acid Cynic. When I saw the Acid 4.0c update I assumed the stability of Acid would improve and everything would be hunky dory. Alas, Acid is now worse than ever. First of all I decided to get the upgrade / patch installer. There seems to be a file missing from one of the cab's, so I had to resort to downloading the entire installation. This installed well and I ran up Acid. Not bad, I thought, until I stopped the play and then restarted. At this point Acid complained that it could no longer open a connection to my soundcard. Now this could also be due to my clunky creative Extigy sound card (we can't all be perfect!). So I thought I would use the microsoft sound mapper drivers. This worked again, until I stopped the play back and restarted. Once again Acid complained about opening the connection to the sound mapper. Any ideas anyone... Or will I have to start using another app... Project 5 perhaps? |

Did you try completely uninstalling ACID and then reinstall? Might want to try reinstalling your soundcard's drivers as well. (Be sure to go through a specific uninstall routine of drivers first if required.) HTH, Iacobus |
