i ran Sound Forge with an SB Live Platinum for a few years, and Sound Forge never had a problem with the card. i can only assume this is the same for an Audigy. so if you're worried about possible incompatibility, stop worrying. Sound Forge can work with Creative cards just fine. :) |

I just put in the Audigy 2 Platinum EX (from Provantage.com - about $217.00). I added it to my editing workstation because the Media Center included with it will "play" just about any kind of audio file commerically available. The speaker calibrator is excellent and enables me to hear my surround recordings as I intend and with repeatability. My intent is to generate consistent 5.1 recordings whether they be of a symphony orchestra or solo instruments. I want my clients to be able to bank on what they receive from me. When I generate an AC3 file (for example) I can immediately test it without closing Vegas. Then when I commit to DVD there are no surprises. Audigy has proven a valuable tool. There have been no conflicts or surprises. I just uninstalled my Lynx 1 board, installed the Audigy, installed the software and it works. The only glitch in my installation has been that the remote control for a nearby consumer DVD player that I use for checking discs also keys the Audigy. In my application I have no use for the Audigy's remote control so I just put a piece of tape over the "eye" on the Audigy console. |
