Subject:VST Instrument Delay

I am having problems with using VST in Acid Pro. When I go to record a Midi track that is routed to a VST instrument I am getting a substantial delay between when I hit a key on the keyboard and when I hear the sound from my PC. The midi information is recorded with the correct timing but the instrument is delayed in playing the note information when recording. When the track is played back the VST instrument plays back with no delay. I am running a Dual Processor AMD MP2000+ with 1GB of Ram and a serial ATA hard drive so PC performance should not be an issue.

Options>>Preferences>>Audio tab>>Audio device type:Asio>>>Advanced[below]>>configure...>>>DMA buffer size:set to 512>>OK>>apply>>OK...done.

Not sure what soundcard your using but this walkthrough will get you to where you want to be. With your system I'm betting that you could probably get down to the lowest settings and not have any problems:ie:128 or even 64. Your "latency" will be in the 5 milliseconds arena. Enjoy.
