I have this soundcard and I am trying to set it up properly on my new laptop which has Windows XP and it doesn't seem to recognize it properly. I even tried updating the driver but that doesn't work maybe I need Direct X 9 or some other windows update since I don't have an internet connection on it yet. In regards to Acid when I try to set the MIDI ports for the soundcard in a track it doesn't recognize them and Acid encounters an error when I right click on it. I bought this because I thought it would be a "pro" soundcard but it isn't "digitally verified by Microsoft" which is probably the reason why it isn't working so smoothly. Any ideas on what to do? |

winXP and usb audio devices don't like each other much. But there are a lot of little things that can cause this. First you need to update XP to SP1(service pack). then go here: http://www.opusaudioprojects.net/Articles.htm and do the XP optimisation. that usually solves the problem. BUT, you're also on a laptop. So that could cause problems later on with the hard drive being to slow. So you might want to start planning on getting an external scsi or firewire HD later on. |
