Subject:Acid Pro 4.0 Crashes as it loads.

I downloaded Acid 4.0 from the official website, and installed it using all the standard preferences. Then, I attempted to run it in demo mode. No Dice. I see the splash screen for startup, then my entire computer freezes and I am forced to shut down.

I am runing a laptop with a pentiumIV 2ghz and a Radeon mobility 9000 video card. All my audio & video drivers are up to date, and my direct X is working peachy. I stripped the background programs and services to the bare essentials (Windows XP) and still, every time, it loads the splash screen then crashes and burns like a sonic hindenburg.

Is this a Windows XP Problem? or is it an ACID problem (4.0b)

I pray there is a super-guru whose attention I have garnered.

Does this KB article help? I was also thinking this KB article might be affecting you as well, but since you said you have the latest and greatest ATI drivers, it might be null and void.

HTH,
