possibly a rudimentary question, but genuine nonetheless. This is being requested for a third party, so i personnally am not familiar with the functionality of sound forge, but maybe the kids in here can help? the question: "I" have a captured DV avi file in which "I'd" like to enhance the audio, adding delay, reverb, beef it up etc. can i import an avi into soundforge? and if so can i tweak the audio then export it back out without loosing sync, and maintain full quality of the video? thanks in advance for your help. This should be doable as long as the .avi file isn't some esoteric format that SoundForge can't recognize (such as older versions of DivX). I'll give you two warnings though. For one thing, this will take much longer than editing an audio-only file, so be prepared for some rather lengthy load and save times. Even zooming or scrolling around the file can take a while. The other thing to keep in mind is that SoundForge will only edit the audio track; it won't make any changes to the video track at all. So, if you were to trim a few seconds from the beginning of the audio then the sync will be off by that much time. Don't make any changes to the length of the audio track. |

Also, if your friend purchased the full version of Sound Forge, it comes with Vegas Video LE which is better suited for this. He can get it from the CD or from the "Download" at the upper right. MJ |

he is engrained into the world of premiere. i DO have vegas and acid, and have tried to convince him of the benefits... but he just wont have it. he has a Storm from canopus and the integration for realtime editing is there... dee |
