There really isn't a "other side" of the argument imo. If/when its implemented, one can use or not. The only concern is whether it is implemented properly in that it would be conflict free and transparent/invisible if not being used, much like the video features in Vegas if you are an audio only user (like myself).

The CEO's of Twelve Tone and Steinberg who'll suddenly be losing a lot of sales to SOnyFO. Except Steinberg will then get to sell Reason into a whole new market. 100,000 Acid freaks locked onto Reason for the first time--man, there's some scary badass music gonna go down when those Saints go marchin in.

Pinnacle/Steinberg FORMER distributor of Reason will benefit greatly from any of their propietary ReWire propagation.

Sure steinberg would benefit by being able to rewire acid to cubase but they have their own problems to deal with. Like fixing all the bugs remaining in their software for starters.

There isn't another side as far as users are concerned. But I'd suspect the Acid developers see it differently. Rewire might involve a number of changes to how time is handled inside Acid. Since what Acid does is play with time, adding something like rewire might actually be difficult.

I've been thinking, but couldn't you write a rewire VSTi wrapper? A VSTi that talks with rewire to rewire clients? Wouldn't that be an easier way to get some rewire support inside Acid? Or does rewire require features that couldn't be done by a VSTi?
