I wanted to record in acid with the sampler instuments from reason Ie. cello or piano,
and I was close once, I had started up both programs and was playing the keyboard, and hit record and it was working, then when I switched to ASIO drivers so I could record in 24 bit, and started hiting keys while it was recoring I got nothing, it showed little midi spikes in the wave it recorded, but no true sound?..surely there has to be a way?? im using a sound blaster audigy2 platnum ex card, and a old juno 106 by roland syth for a midi keyboard?, I know I was close because some how in 16 bit I was recording in real time, but somewere in the switch of drivers I messed something up?
MIDI is Alien to me, so if anyone has some suggestions for me try and Dumb it down a shade for me so i can get what you mean, thanks and hope you all are having smooth sailing with your prodjects.

If your soundcard is capable of using its mixer as a source of recording input, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. As always, be aware that when recording in this manner, anything playing back on your system will also be recorded.

As far as ASIO and the Audigy 2 Platinum eX (who comes up with these names?) goes, it only does 16-bit/48 kHz max with ASIO. (Look at the chart in the bottom right.) If it's not too late to return the Audigy 2, I can suggest cards that can do 24-bit with ASIO. :)

I suppose you've heard about using Reason as a ReWire slave? You may want to keep that in mind in the near future...

I have finely managed to get acid to record in 24bit using the audigy2 apparently its only the auidigy 1 that can only do 16.....Im still expirementing with a few different things to get the keyboard recording from reason in real time, it must be possible without the othertracks sliding in there as well!!...if anyone has any Ideas would kill to hear them.
