Is it worth me buying Acid 4.0? I have been using a demo version and am contemplating buying the full software, a couple of things though :

1. Do i then have to pay again for updates? ie: 4.0b > 4.0c or even 4.0 > 5.0?

2. Where is the cheapest i can buy it from (UK pounds)? i have seen it for 225..

Just been putting it off due to all the issues that seem to crop up on here!! :-S

You don't have to pay when moving 4.0a to 4.0b, c, or whatever. You WILL have to pay when moving to 5.0, although with the Sony buyout, I suppose that may or may not change.

SoFo is offering a special now through the end of May, so you may want to contact them...

4.0, from what I gather (I still use Music 3.0 & Pro 2.0), is indeed getting some of the bugs worked out of it. I'm debating upgrading before the end of the month, as well. Unless, of course, these hush-hush reWire rumors prove to be true. Then I'll stop debating & buy immediately!

(keeping my fingers crossed!)
David.

I think it's a useful enuf tool that everyone should have it in one's musical arsenal...of that there should be no doubt...the updates are very very few indeed, but free, not the upgrades, i.e., ver 5, IF there is one, now that Sony's almost in charge...?
