Very new to Acid, I have Acid 3.0 and I need to know how to edit a
mp3 song. more specifically chop it to a certain amount of time and
then have it slowly fade out...
Can anyone help me with a step by step instructional tute?

If you have ACID Pro 3.0, you can use its Chopper tool to extract what you want from a track. (ALT+2 is the shortcut.)

Try checking out this KB article on songs with varying tempo.

To slowly fade out a particular track, add a volume envelope (SHIFT+V), add a couple of points and then drag the rightmost point down.
