I used to own (still do actually but it's in a box) the old SoundForge XP 4.5 product. It was very basic compared to the full blown SoundForge, but it got the job done for my basic editing needs. Is SoundForge "Studio" the new version?

I took the trouble to print out the Sound Forge 6.0 User Manual, even though I am a SF Studio 6.0 user. The manual is 270 pages long and those sections or items NOT offered in SF Studio are marked with a special icon. My impression is that SF Studio is actually quite impressive. Those icons are not so numerous.

For me, it's key things like the inability to use Noise Reduction that make we want the full version.

Or any other DirectX plug-in.

Here's a link to the SF family comparison.
