HAs anyone been able to play a 24 bit wav file saved out of forge in player 9.0 seems it should support it as there is an option to play 24 bit in the devices options but seems to look for some missing codec. has anyone else seen this or even tried? |

WMP does not support 24 bit. I don't see any entries for 24 bit in WMP 9's options. Siren plays 24 bit and *.pca but SF sold it to Sony Screenblast unfortunately. I still use Siren so haven't researched other players. Maybe someone will come along and point one out. P.S. If you purchased an Audiophile 24/96 (maybe all Delta cards) there is a Siren LE copy on the driver CD. MJ |

Mine displays playback devices and optical drives. Properties on Speakers displays output ports. In my case; Direct Sound WaveOut Delta AP 1/2 driver, Direct Sound Delta AP 1/2 SPDIF driver, Direct Sound SB Driver and Default Direct Sound Driver Nothing about 24 bit although the Audiophile supports 24/96. In any case WMP does not support 24 bit and will check for a codec anytime it doesn't recognize/support the format. MJ |

Winamp 2.81 or whatever is the latest release before verson 3 supports playing of 24bit files even though its not true 24bit. its converted down to 16bit for playing. (just like soundforge does when unchecking 'try open as 24bit" in \options.\.wave /j |
