Subject:Converting an AIFF from stereo to mono destroys the file on SF6.0e

I don't know if this is a bug, but when I try to Convert any 44Khz 16bit AIFF file to mono from the properties dialog it messes my files for good (by inserting awful gaps on the file, and apparently lowering the pitch), I've also noticed that the bit depth pop up has no initial value (only with this type of file).

Does anyone knows if this behaviour is normal? Am I doing something wrong here? or is it a bug?
