whether it be playing a wave file on my computer through media player or running a cable from an audio source to the input in my sound card (sb live), the record feature doesn't recognize that there's anything playing (ever). i've gone through my "sounds and audio" menu in xp's settings, nothing's muted, and everything says "soundblaster wave device" in that screen as well as in sound forge's wave properties. not sure if it's something i'm overlooking, a problem with my sound card and windows xp, a sound forge / xp issue, a sound forge / sb live issue.... any ideas at all would be appreciated. |

You have to select the source in the Recording Mixer. Double-click the speaker icon in the systray > Options > Properties > Recording > OK. For anything the soundcard plays select "What U Hear", otherwise select the individual input such as "Line in" etc. MJ |
