Mainconcept MPEG1 & 2 update for Vegas 3.0 users?

I know that several tech's have suggested that we load the Vegas 4.0 demo and it will automatically update the MPEG 1 & 2 drivers to the latest revision. Is there a way for us Vegas 3.0 users to acquire this update without loading the Demo of Vegas 4.0? I just purchased Vegas 3.0 but I would like to get the updated plugins.

Is there a way of doing this?

The techs are correct, just download and install the Vegas 4.0 demo. This will update shared plug-ins like MainConcept MPEG-1&2. The installer only updates those plug-ins which have lower version numbers. Since Vegas 3.0 shipped with an older version of MPEG, when you install the Vegas 4.0 demo your MPEG will be updated (overwritten) with a newer version.

You don't even have to run Vegas 4.0. Now just uninstall it, and your MPEG will remain as the updated version. The installer tracks the reference count for shared plug-ins and will delete the MainConcept MPEG-1&2 plug-in only when the last Sonic Foundry application that uses it is uninstalled from your system.
