Hello, I've been recording cassettes using SF Studio 6.0e and a Sound Blaster 128 for the past couple weeks. I wanted to upgrade to get more speed so I picked up an SB Audigy2 Platinum EX, but received horrible performance. While recording and encoding, the machine would flatline at 100% and be unusable, but with the 128 it would sit happily at 40%. Any ideas? |

I'd say try updated drivers as there are some issue with the p4 and HT in particular and even if your chip is not enabled - if it is a p4 of 2.2GHz or higher the software is in some cases seeing the HT anyway and causing problems with the older drivers. hit the creative asia site for the latest drivers available in english and other languages |

I don't really know what you mean by HT, but the computer is an AMD 2000+ using the Nvidia nForce2 chipset. |

Skip that, you meant hyperthreading. I will try updated drivers after I exchange the Audigy2 Platinum EX for just an audigy |
