I am seeking someone who owns ACID software or equipment. Someone who would take 3 CDs I own containing church hymns (On split-tracks) and re-record them TWO NOTES LOWER (nothing else needs changing). I would be happy to send them via 'snail mail' along with three blank CDs. NOTE: I sing occasionally in my church and I have a bass range. Almost all music acompaniment tapes are recorded out of my range. By the way - I don't know how the recordings will come out. They might not record on the two channels needed so I can play just the music background portion. If this is the case I could record just the music track here on new CDs and send only that. If anyone reading this can do this could you please tell me approximately how much it would cost? (You wouldn't need to record each song individually - just let it run through the entire CD before finishing). My suggestion, especially if you see yourself needing to do this more than a few times in the future, is to get SoundForge Studio so that you can do this yourself. SoundForge has a pitch bend option which would easily let you drop the pitch four semitones (two full notes). You'll get the best results by slowing the song proportionately to the pitch drop (like slowing down a tape recorder), however you can also retain the same speed but the quality of the sound may suffer some. There are also lots of other things you'll be able to do such as cutting and pasting to rearrange the song, delete parts you don't want, change the EQ, fade the volume up or down, etc. You can even burn the new version with the accompaniment on both tracks without the demo vocal so that you don't have to worry about the sound techs at church picking the right channel ;) (i know from where i speak ... i'm one of the sound techs at my church and i've made that mistake!) You can download a trial version for free from here: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/download/step2.asp?DID=395 You won't be able to rip tracks from a CD or write back to CD with the demo version, but it appears you've already got the ability to do that. If you decide you like doing it yourself, it won't take many times before you've saved enough on postage and extra blanks to make up the cost of the software. Best of all, you can experiment as much as you need to get the pitch shift that works best for you before committing the result back to CD. |
