I have tried to write my Mix compilation using Create CD, but i keep getting the message...

YOU NEED TO SELECT A CD-R DRIVE CAPEABLE OF WRITING IN THE CREATE CD PREFERENCES PAGE. WOULD YOU LIKE TO SELECT A CD-R NOW

But when i select the yes in the dialog box it goes to a preferences dialog box, now when I go to the Write Drive option it states there is no device even though my CD Burner is connected.

I am using a Pentium III running Windows Professional and I am logged in as an administrator.

Please can som one help me cause all I want to do is create a CD with my markr points.

regards

What if you disabled DMA for the drive under Device Manager? Is the CD-RW a master or a slave? Try setting the CD-RW as a master if it's the slave. (You may have to move the drive onto the secondary IDE channel if it's slaved with your hard drive on the primary channel. If it's slaved with another CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, just switch cables and jumpers around.)

I have disabled CD Drive from the Device Manager and still no joy. How would you set up the CD-RW as a master. I have a Sony Vaio Laptop CD-RW is connected using S400 - Firewire connection. I presume that it is connected as a slave to my HD but I am only guessing.
Also you were saying about moving CD-RW onto secondary IDE channel.

Many thanks

Whoops. I was referring to a desktop system. (Had no idea you were using a laptop.) Using an external CD-RW FireWire drive basically negates what I've said in my previous post.

Can you basically use the drive otherwise? (Can the OS see the drive just fine?) What make and model drive is it?
