First of all, I've gone through and searched most of the previous threads and nothing exactly highlights my problem. I'm running Acid Pro 4.0b(build 317) on a P4-2.5 Ghz w 1gig dram with 7200rpm drives on XP pro. I'm looping the first 17 measures with no disk based files and no effects with standard Acid Loops, but each time I get to measure 5, it goes bonkers, stutters, sounds like it's out of sync, slows down before playing normally in measure 6. I only have one 4 beat Acidized factory created drum loop in that measure and 2 loops in the measure before at 100bpm. Nothing esoteric. I read about maybe it was a driver problem but I ran it through my M-Audio 2496 as well as through my US-428 with the 16bit driver and it still stutters, actually, it stutters for 4 measures with the US-428 before it catches itself. As it played, I watched it under the Windows Task Manager. Nothing was running in the background (all processes were at 0% Cpu utilization). Acid was running at 57% but when it got stuck in measure 5, Acid was at 99%. The song takes up 35 meg. Any suggestions? |

This may work in your situation: Try muting each track (one at a time) to see if you can pin down one offending track. If muting one particular track allows the song to play correctly, then, if you can't figure out what it is about that one track that's causing the problem, replace it with something else. About a year ago I had a single "rogue" track that just wouldn't behave. Once I replaced it with a different loop, everything was fine. |

Also, try turning off all effects and see it that changes things. |
