Subject:recording vocals

I first recorded track 1 instrument, and the only way for me to record the vocals right is to be able to have track1:instrument doing playback while I record track2:vocals, so I know when to come in on the vocals, and where the rest.

I have not been able to figure this out ( Acid pro 4 ) and my brother is out of town, its his software and he is sure I can figure it out.. lol..

Sounds like you need to enable monitoring while playing back the rest of your project. Usually this is done via your soundcard's software mixer.

Enable just the input you intend to use for recording and turn its sliders up, then select that as your recording input in the Record window. If you do it right, you should be able to hear what you're recording along with the playback of the rest of the project.
