Subject:Sound Forge 6.0x Crashes when trying to open a .WMA file

Before upgrading to 6.0e I was able to open and edit Windows Media Audio files from my Web Stream server to edit and save as .WAV. Now, I can preview the files, but when I open them, SF crashes ("SF has generated errors..."). I have ample disk space and my drive is optimized. However, we recently upped the bitrate to 96kb and I wonder if that may not be the cause of the problem. Does SF have an issue opening files of this type? I noticed some other Media Encoder issues concerning SF6

Thanks,

Terry

hmmm...seems I fixed my own issue. When encoding, If I deselect the option to create in index in the Output File (the resulting .wma), then I have no problem. The other files were encoded with an index by default and now they cannot be opened. I had to play them "live" with Windows Media Player and record them as WAV.

Thanks,

Terry
