Subject:Sound Forge 4.5 freezes when used with Vegas Video 4b

When I right click and export an audio file from Vegas Video 4b to my sound editor, Sound Forge 4.5, Sound forge launches and starts to open the file but when it is 97% or 98% done, Sound Forge Freezes. The video footage was shot at 30p and I'm using a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 533bus, with 512mb DDR333 memory. I'm running Win2k and my sound card is an E-MU APS (which required a third party driver to work with Win2k). What could cause this problem? |

What is the format of the audio file you are trying to open? I have v4.0b on win2k with Sound Forge v4.5 and don't have the same problem with a 16bit 44.1Khz .Wav file. |

Thats interesting. I'm importing 16, 44.1 Wav as well. It could be my sound card. E-Mu didn't make a driver for Win2k so I had to get one from another source. Somebody please tell me I'm wrong because I paid $500 for that sound card. |

I'm not clear on whether you are trying to open video in Sound Forge or not (if you haven't explicitly split off the audio and are just "Open in Sound Forge"-ing, you probably are). Sound Forge 4.5 video support is pretty limited, so it may be having trouble figuring out what you are opening. Try "Open Copy in Sound Forge" instead to see if the video is an issue. Or render the audio to a new track in Vegas before opening in Sound Forge. J. |
