Subject:Mac equivalent to soundforge

I've used SoundForge with great love for about 2 years now. I have recently purchased a Mac, and was curious what the equivalent to SoundForge would be on the Mac. Mac has prided itself on being the multimedia advantage -- I'd like to see if they have anything that compares. Any thoughts?

I'm by no means an expert but I think Bias Peak for the Mac might be a place to start?

I agree Bias Peak it is......but if you're familiar with Sound Forge, this will feel like a step backwards.

It seems kind of weird to me that Steinberg never released a MAC version of Wavelab, since most of their apps are MAC/PC compatible.

You might also want to try one of the PC emulators available for MAC and you can run Sound Forge on that. I've done that one and can verify it works....well that was with SF v4.5, so I'm not so sure with v6.0.

I agree with the qualified opinion above.

i'm a mac user too and i have experimented some audio editors like peak , spark ,sonicworx .... for me peak seems to be the best of all but not as good as sound forge which as better performance , workflow and capatibility...
so i record music with a mac and i edit sound with a pc ...

"so i record music with a mac and i edit sound with a pc"
I dare you to go make that statement in the MAC Protools forum. :-)

Actually, what do you use on the MAC side to record your music? Protools? Logic? Cubase? Performer? I would suggest you try Vegas and Acid. I use to be a MAC Protools user, I look back on those days and regret everytime I have to go to another studio and use Protools again. Maybe, it's just because I'm so use to Vegas now, and am working with a closed mind. This should hold true for you as well unless you're doing a lot of Midi work. I'm still using Opcode's Studio Vision with Vegas and Acid for my midi needs.

i'm using a mac for hardware needs , cause i haven't found soundcard which can record 16 tdif tracks without pain (prodif t24/96,motu,etc..) .Now i've got a motu 2408 and unfortunatly it doesn't work as well on pc as on mac.
I know there is great apps like vegas or samplitude but i'm using a lot of midi and performer is esiest way to manage audio and midi for me.I don't know if protools work well on pc now, and logic will disappear on pc...
i'm not a mac fan but it just work for me.

Mattaudio - I think your info is a few years out of date - 2408s have been absolutely solid on PC for a couple of years now.
