Am I losing my mind? Editing/Cutting an AUDIO track

OK, it's been a while since I used VEGAS (recently upgraded to 4.0), anyway, I'm trying to edit an audio file in vegas on a track.

I select the track, then scissors and every time I do the whole track dissapears (gets cut), I have a piece of audio that I want to edit a little more that goes to picture.

Thanks.

I don't think you are loosing your mind...but I think Vegas is doing exactly what you are telling it to do.

When you select the track and then click the scissor button - you are cutting that track (to the clipboard).

If you want to split the track...you can position your cusor to where you want to split and then hit the "s" key. Yes...it will split all the event at the cursor...but you can just lock the other tracks so as not to mess them up.

Of course...I find editing audio is easier in Vegas Audio (or Acid), then re-importing...but that's just me.

Hope this helps

No locking necessary -
If you have an event highlighted, S will split that track only.
If no event is highlighted, S will split all tracks at the cursor position.
