I have just finished a very difficult video project with multiple voices and different mics(shotgun,lav,Voice-over) and am wondering if there is an approach to getting all sources to sound at about the same volume/intelligibility. So far I haven't done much preprocessing before bringing things into the video editing timeline. But since our editing system has no plug-ins, preprocessing seems like a good idea...but I don't want to mangle the sound either. I have used the batch converter and its scripting but woudl like some feedback on what others put in their processing chain. What do people do to bring various audio sources into line for consistent and easier placement in the mix? |

Yes, for something that complex, you need a multi-track program like Vegas. Even with Vegas, Pro-tools or whatever ... be prepared to spend some time on it. There is no pre-set or program that will be a fix-all. |
