I have several different sounds that I want to combine together. Each sound file must have a diffent amount of volumn. Can I do this with Sound Forge???? TIA Bill |

sure, as long as you do not want the sounds to overlap. because then you would have to dish out money for Acid Pro. If you want a cheapo simple channel mixer, then try accoustica software. No where near as good SF (not even in the same galaxy) but makes mixing sound together and overlapping very easy. |

You can do this with Sound Forge, but it's very awkward and it's not the kind of thing Sound Forge is intended for - you would be far better off using a proper multi-track audio application. But you should aready have the correct tool for this kind of thing - as far as I am aware, Sound Forge comes with a cut down version of Vegas called VegasLE. Vegas is (amongst other things) a multitrack audio app and will do your mixing job nicely. |

VegasLE only comes with the full version of SoundForge; it's not included with the cheaper Studio version. However, VideoFactory handles three stereo audio tracks. I've used this for multitrack editing with good results. |
