Subject:HOW TO END SONG/DELETE LOOP?

Okay, I've tried everything.
I can fade out my song/tracks, but how do I "END" the song (the cursor keeps on moving).

And HOW DO I DELETE A LOOP zone after I've created one??? When I RIGHT-CLICK on the area, I don't get the option -- just "ZOOM TO LOOP REGION" "INSERT REGION" etc.

Are there any good books on ACID, I can't follow the help file very well.....

Man don't take this the wrong way but you really should read the help files, this is really basic stuff !

O.k. if your song is finished you should bounce it down to wav for mastering' if you have got a specific point where the song should end make sure you add a couple of bars to allow you to add a volume envelope' which will enable you to fade the song out gradually.... BTW all this is made a lot easier if done in a sound editor like soundforge or wavelab but can be accomplished in acid....

To delete a sample you've added to the time line' just left click the sample and press delete on your keyboard...

Sorry' im not sure if there are any books available?

I probably didn't explain myself quite right:

If I create a "LOOP PLAYBACK AREA" -- those arches, then I can't figure out how to delete it. If I click delete, all it does it move the darn thing to the left and right.

And IF I DO use the Loop area, it just repeats forever. Can I get it to repeat 10x then play another section of the song, where I fade out?

I've never felt so dumb trying to figure an application out, but the help files don't help me much. This is my first app for recording music, which may explain it.

Thanks for your help though

The "loop playback area" is only for previewing, it doesn't affect how the song you're creating will play when it's finished. if you want a loop to play multiple times then drag the loop out longer on the timeline to cover the length of time you want it to play.

Greetings,

You could try 'Making music with Sonic Foundry Acid' by David E Franks (ISBN: 1870775805). It only covers up to Acid Pro 3.0 but as a beginner it should have more than enough info for your needs.

I don't think you can delete the loop section. It is denoted by that yellow bar. To stop looping just click on the loop icon next to the play icon in your controls. Even if you do see the yellow loop bar at the top, if looping playback is not on it will not affect how your track is rendered. Anything "off" does not render. Such as muted tracks, these actually dont render. So make sure you have all the sounds "on" not muted when you are ready to render.
