Hi I made a simple drum loop in FruityLoops and exported it as a wav. If I take this loop straight to AcidPro it works fine. Instead of taking the file straight to Acid, I'd like to do some adjusting of the loopd in SoundForgeStudio. If I open the wav and save it as a wav, the loop is intact and it plays smoothly without a break in AcidPro. But if I save as an mp3 there's a short pause added at the end of the loop and it doesn't play smoothly. Why is this happening? Thanks Mark |

The extra added silence is part of the MP3 definition. Don't use MP3 for loops; save them as WAV instead. |

Thanks. Is there anywhere I can read about this? Mark |

The silence at the beginning and end of an MP3 is inherent to the format as Kelly noted. If you want a lossless-but-compressed format, try SoFo's own PCA format, but be aware only SoFo's apps support the format. HTH, Iacobus |
