Hi
I made a simple drum loop in FruityLoops and exported it as a wav. If I take this loop straight to AcidPro it works fine.
Instead of taking the file straight to Acid, I'd like to do some adjusting of the loopd in SoundForgeStudio. If I open the wav and save it as a wav, the loop is intact and it plays smoothly without a break in AcidPro. But if I save as an mp3 there's a short pause added at the end of the loop and it doesn't play smoothly.
Why is this happening?

The extra added silence is part of the MP3 definition. Don't use MP3 for loops; save them as WAV instead.

The silence at the beginning and end of an MP3 is inherent to the format as Kelly noted.

If you want a lossless-but-compressed format, try SoFo's own PCA format, but be aware only SoFo's apps support the format.
